Sirna-027 is a chemically modified short interfering RNA(siRNA) targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1(VEGFR-1). VEGFR-1 is a key component of the clinically validated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway. Sirna-027 is developed by Sirna Therapeutics and is under the phase I of clinical trails. It is used to treat Macular degeneration.
Cơ Chế Tác Dụng : Sirna-027 is a chemically modified short interfering RNA(siRNA) targeting Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1(VEGFR-1). VEGFR-1 is a key component of the clinically validated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway. Sirna-027 is developed by Sirna Therapeutics and is under the phase I of clinical trails. It is used to treat Macular degeneration. Sirna-027 is the first chemically optimized short interfering RNA (siRNA) to be tested in a human clinical trial. The compound targets Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-1 (VEGFR-1), a key component of the clinically validated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway. VEGFR-1 is found primarily on vascular endothelial cells and is stimulated by both VEGF and placental growth factor (PlGF) resulting in the growth of new blood vessels. By targeting VEGFR-1, Sirna-027 is designed to reduce pathologic angiogenesis mediated by both VEGF and PlGF.
