Cơ Chế Tác Dụng :
Corticotropin-releasing factor is studied in the treatment of brain cancer. It is made naturally by the hypothalamus (a part of the brain) and can also be made in the laboratory. Human corticotropin-releasing factor may help reduce symptoms caused by edema (swelling) of the brain. It is a type of neurohormone, also called hCRF.
Corticotropin-releasing factor is produced by neuroendocrine cells in the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus and is released from neurosecretory terminals of these neurons into the primary capillary plexus of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal portal system. The portal system carries the Corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH) to the anterior lobe of the pituitary, where it stimulates corticotropes to secrete corticotropin (ACTH) and other biologically active substances (for example β-endorphin).
Chỉ Định :
Investigated for use/treatment in brain cancer and neurologic disorders.
Tương Tác Thuốc :
-
Heparin
Contraindication: Heparin may enhance the adverse/toxic effect of Corticorelin. Significant hypotension and bradycardia have been previously attributed to this combination. Corticorelin prescribing information describes a case in which a patient experienced a substantial fall in blood pressure and heart rate, resulting in asystole and requiring resuscitation.
